Last Chance learners

They have this reality programme in Melbourne where by first time learner drivers have been on the L plate for 10,13 years and has failed their tests more than 30 times. So this reality programme puts them with top notch instructors and if they do pass their final test, they get a brand new sponsored car each. How cool is that!

Thanks to dad supporting me getting a car, i realised that i have learnt ALOT about driving on the road. Lessons the instructor can't teach. Lessons should actually be taught at night, because its so different. But i doubt anywhere in the world, instructors teach driving at night. Which is why i suppose they've the system here whereby parents can take their children out for driving lessons on their own any time of the day.

Frankly, not to scare my parents...there were a couple of times an accident could have NEARLY happened to me. But thankfully, most Australians are pretty tolerant and patient on the road...so that's nice. Like yesterday, i made a somewhat illegal u-turn, u turn signs are rarely seen here that it almost doesnt exists! You only see 'no u-turn' signs around. So u assume if there isnt such a sign, a u-turn can be done.

So yes, i was making a u-turn, and this guy was coming out and turning in my direction (not expecting me to u-turn), so we almost clashed. When i told the boyfriend, he said one thing he learnt when doing such U-turns is to look at the opposite driver. If he is looking in your direction and aware of your presence. And i suppose i was lucky because that driver WAS aware of my presence, just NOT aware i was going to U-turn. Thus a clash was avoided. So er, wait a minute..does the boyfriend's advice make any sense?

Then of course there were the other times i didn't brake early enough, overshot those lines, and i hate those lights where once i am approaching them, they turn yellow!!! I always had a conflict, not sure to speed up or stop. But i must say my parking is getting better and better. No more reversing, going in, reversing. I can do it with one try!

They're very strict with the speed limits here. Most of the time i adhere, but there was once because it was uphill, i had to press harder..then as i go down hill (naturally, ur car will be abit faster because i accelerated up) then got a mobile speed camera there!! I am so scared...hope i didnt get a ticket. Stupid to put a speed camera there. Unreasonable and unfair!

u shld get ur mystery shopper to check out uncle felix's lasik clinic vs others

make all your driving mistakes in Perth, u cannot afford to make any in Singapore, esp with my car

whenever lights turn yellow, your instinct must be to slow down, never to speed up. Patience is a virtue

be careful about working in china with the air and water so bad there
